4 Ways to Factory Reset Windows 10
A factory reset can solve many types of Windows issues. If your computer has slowed down once compared to earlier, then you are dealing with malware that does not go away, or you do not plan to sell your machine, the factory reset is the most convenient solution.
Depending on your setup and the version of Windows installed, you have a few different ways to reset the laptop or desktop. We'll show you how to easily reset Windows 10, 8, or 7 computers as soon as possible.
1. Restore using Windows installation media
If you are not using Windows 8 or 10, or you do not want to use the convenient methods given above for any reason, you can always reset Windows by using the installation media. This allows you to install a new copy of Windows on your computer and erase everything currently on it.This lets you download an ISO to burn to a flash drive or DVD so that you can reinstall Windows. To do this you must provide a valid Windows 7 product key.
Either way, simply insert a USB drive or disk containing your install media, then boot from the removable device. You will be greeted from the Windows Setup screen, which you can proceed to install a clean copy.
2. Advanced Factory Reset Options
While the three methods listed above will work for most users, there are some advanced methods to reset Windows if you're interested.

Otherwise, you may be able to boot into the BIOS and access the recovery partition directly on your hard drive if your PC manufacturer is involved. However, if you reset with this method, you will reinstall all the bloatware, so this is not ideal.
You can also type a recovery drive in the Start menu to access a tool from which you can create your own. However, this requires very little space on the drive, and you must do this before running into trouble.
Overall, if you are using Windows 8 or 10, one of the built-in reset options is your best bet. Windows 7 users should download an image from Microsoft and do a clean installation that way.
3. Built-in reset option on Windows 10

Go to Settings> Update & Security> Recovery. You will see this PC header reset; Click the Get Start button below it.
Reset or Refresh?
You have two options to choose from: Keep my files or remove everything. The first option sets your options by default and removes all your installed applications (like Browser, Microsoft Office and Game), but keeps your data. It is true with its name, remove everything, everything resets everything for factory defaults and removes your files. However, the My Files option will retain your data, in case you have something wrong, you should back up before using it.
If you have removed all, Windows will ask you if you want to clean the drive or just delete your files, remove the files and clearing the drive will safely erase the drive, so it is difficult to recover the data. (This process takes some time). If you are getting rid of your PC for any reason, then you should choose it. If you're keeping your computer, just delete my files.
Otherwise, if you have placed my files, you will see a list of apps that will delete the reset. After the reset is over, Windows will save it to your desktop so that you can remember that you need to restore it.
Finally, confirm the operation by clicking on reset and wait for the process to complete. If you are resetting the laptop, make sure you plug it in to avoid losing power during the operation. Once you do this, you have to go through the setup process.
